As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu llāhi wa-barakātuhu,

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding during the unprecedented closure of the London Muslim Mosque due to the COVID-19 government-mandated shutdown. As a community, we need to work together and support one another to get through these current challenges. Indeed, we are all being tested as Allah (SWT) has promised:

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e., who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones” [Qur’an, Surah al-Baqarah, 2:155-157]

The Board of Directors continues to monitor the effects of this closure on the delivery of services to our community and the fees structure under the current circumstances. We also understand that many families have and are soon to experience significant financial hardships in the coming months.

To respond to these pressing needs, the London Islamic School, the Weekend London Islamic School, and the Qur'an Hifth Program, collectively, have decided to reduce the tuition fees by 50%. This will take place while our students continue to learn online.

The health and well-being of our students, staff, and community members are paramount and we are making every effort to ensure the continued safe delivery of our regular services remotely to the best of our abilities under these unprecedented circumstances.

The London Muslim Mosque is working in alignment with the provincial government and local health authorities, who provide us with accurate and timely direction, to determine when we can return to normal operations. To those who donated to this fund, we say Jazakum Allahu Khairan and may Allah (SWT) reward you immensely; we also urge those who are able to support this important initiative to continue to do so. We would like to conclude this message by assuring our community that we are here for you during these tough times and we will emerge from this test better and stronger, Insha’Allah.
