Fund Development and Communications
Preamble
In order to maintain accountability of London Muslim Mosque for fundraising completed in its’
name, a set of basic requirements and principles regarding fundraising activities is provided.
Policy
Fundraising
-
Any fundraising initiatives with an expected revenue of up to $10,000 must be approved by a key leader (Iman, Principal or Operations Manager) who will then pass it to the Finance Manager.
-
Any fundraising initiatives with an expected revenue of over $10,000 must be approved by the London Muslim Mosque Board of Directors.
-
Any fundraising events that result in cash being accepted at the event must have people assigned to the task of accepting cash, and cash must be counted and confirmed by two volunteers specifically assigned to this task before the cash is given to a designated staff person.
-
Fundraising initiatives must endeavour to minimize the number of cash transactions. If people are accepting cash outside of the event location (e.g., selling tickets to an event), there must be a means to track and reconcile cash received and tickets sold (such as numbered ticket books assigned to volunteer ticket sellers, and a reconciliation of the number of tickets turned back in against the cash turned in).
-
Any and all cash accepted as a result of a fundraising initiative must be given to a key leader (Imam, Operations Manager, or Principal) or someone they have designated.
Communications
-
The London Muslim Mosque logo, and the sub-logos of London Muslim Mosque departments may not be used without the specific authorization of a key leader (Imam, Operations Manager, or Principal).
