Assalamu Alaykum Dear LIS and LMM Woods Families,

As we enter the sacred month of Ramadan, we are reminded of the immense blessings and opportunities it brings for spiritual growth, self-reflection, and generosity. This holy month is a time to strengthen our connection with Allah (SWT) and to embody the values of compassion, kindness, and charity, especially toward those most in need.

In this spirit, we are excited to share the continuation of our beloved annual initiative, Kids Helping Kids, a project that has been transforming the lives of orphaned children around the world since 2017. With the unwavering support of our students, parents, and staff, this initiative has raised over $100,000 to date. Alhamdulillah, we currently sponsor 22 orphans through Islamic Relief Canada, providing them with access to education, healthcare, food, and essential support.

The total amount required to renew their sponsorships is $23,760. This renewal ensures that their care and support continue uninterrupted for another year. If each child in our school community pledged just $14/week during our 4-week campaign, we could easily surpass this number, in shaa Allah!

Alhamdulillah, in 2024, our school was honored to receive the Guardians of Hope Award from Islamic Relief Canada, recognizing our collective commitment to making a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children. This achievement truly reflects the generosity and compassion of our school community.

Kids Helping Kids is more than a fundraising effort, it is an opportunity for our children to learn empathy, gratitude, and responsibility by helping children their own age who are less fortunate. Through this initiative, our students see firsthand how their efforts, du’as, and contributions can bring hope and relief to others.

As Ramadan continues, we will be sharing opportunities for families to participate and contribute toward this renewal, in shaa Allah. Thank you for your continued support and for partnering with us to nurture caring, socially responsible, and compassionate young Muslims.
